Is Apex Auto Finish Studio a real shop?

No. Apex is a fictional shop built as a Showroom demo by Calls From Clicks to show what a Showroom-tier website does. No real services are offered, and the public forms on this site do not send or store anything.

How does quoting work?

You spec the job in the guided quote flow: vehicle, service, package, condition, and timing. The flow shows the honest range from the shop price sheet, and the final number always comes after we see the vehicle, confirm the film, and check the paint in the bay.

Why ranges instead of exact prices?

Because vehicle shape, paint condition, and disassembly needs genuinely change the work. The ranges are real boundaries, not bait. What moves a job inside its range is listed right on each package.

Do you work on regular daily drivers or just special cars?

Daily drivers are most of the schedule: commuters, new deliveries, lease returns, work trucks. Enthusiast builds and weekend cars are welcome in the same bay, with the same measured process.

How far do you serve?

The fictional studio is based in Ferndale and covers 21 Metro Detroit cities across Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne counties, from Grosse Pointe to Sterling Heights to Bloomfield Hills. Full list on the service areas page.

Does the quote form send my information anywhere?

No. This is a demo site. The forms validate your entries in the browser to show the experience, then discard them. Nothing is transmitted or retained, and a notice in the flow says exactly that.

Where do the film and coating numbers on this site come from?

Published manufacturer documents: the XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS technical data sheet, the XPEL PRIME specification sheet, and Gtechniq's product pages. Gloss demo readings are labeled as illustrative demo values. Anything that could not be verified was left out.

Which panels does a full front package cover?

Full Front PPF: Bumper, hood, front fenders, and mirror caps. The Track Pack extends coverage to rockers, A-pillars, lower doors, and other high-impact edges. Exact coverage is confirmed against your vehicle's panel design before work starts.

Will I see the film on the car?

Full Front PPF: The film is optically clear and the edges are mapped to panel lines. Up close you can find an edge if you look for it. At a normal viewing distance the car reads as paint.

Does film go over fresh paint or repainted panels?

Full Front PPF: Repainted panels need full cure time before film, and we check paint condition in the bay first. Tell us about any repaint history when you request a quote.

How long does a full body install take?

Full Body PPF: Multiple days. Panel count, body curves, and how much disassembly your vehicle needs decide the schedule. We give you the timeline with the quote, and the car stays inside until it is done.

Is full body film worth it on a daily driver?

Full Body PPF: It depends on how long you keep cars. If this one is staying five or more years, film on every panel means the whole finish ages at the garage rate instead of the freeway rate.

Can you coat over the film?

Full Body PPF: Yes. Coating over film adds the wash-behavior benefits on top of impact protection. Many full body cars leave with both.

Do I need paint correction before coating?

Ceramic Coating: If the paint has swirls or defects, yes. Coating locks in whatever sits under it. That is exactly what the Correction + Coating package exists for, and the bay inspection decides how much correction time your paint actually needs.

How long before the first wash?

Ceramic Coating: Give fresh coating several days before its first wash, then follow the aftercare sheet. We walk you through it at pickup.

Is ceramic coating a substitute for PPF?

Ceramic Coating: No. Coating does not stop rock chips. Film handles impact, coating handles chemistry and maintenance. On Michigan freeways they solve different problems, and they stack well.

Can every scratch be polished out?

Paint Correction: Not all of them. Defects deeper than the clear coat cannot be polished out safely, and we point those out at inspection. Most swirl and haze comes right up.

Why does correction time vary so much?

Paint Correction: Paint hardness, defect depth, and panel count. A test spot tells us how your paint responds, and the quote follows that, not a menu.

Should I coat right after correction?

Paint Correction: It is the best time. The paint is at its best state and unprotected. Coating or film locks the result in before the freeway starts over.

How dark can I go in Michigan?

Window Tint: Michigan restricts front side windows to tint in the top 4 inches of the glass. Rear side windows and the rear window may be darker when the vehicle has two outside mirrors. Reflective silver or gold films are not permitted, and medical exemptions exist with a signed letter. That is general guidance, not legal advice.

What is the difference between the carbon and ceramic packages?

Window Tint: The ceramic package uses XPEL PRIME XR PLUS, and its published heat-rejection data is in the table above. The carbon package is the budget tier for looks and glare without the ceramic heat numbers.

Why does my glass count change the price?

Window Tint: A coupe has fewer panes than a three-row SUV, and every pane is film, pattern time, and install time. The configurator sends us your window-by-window plan so the quote is grounded.

Which wrap films do you work with?

Vehicle Wraps: Cast vehicle-wrap families in the 3M 2080, Avery Dennison SW900, and Inozetek style of catalog, chosen per project by finish and color. Names appear as illustrative examples only, and no manufacturer partnership is implied in this demo.

How close is the visualizer preview to the real film?

Vehicle Wraps: It is a direction, not a color proof. The preview helps you pick a family: gloss versus satin, dark versus light, color-shift versus solid. Final film selection happens against physical swatches in the bay.

Does a wrap damage the paint underneath?

Vehicle Wraps: Healthy factory paint handles cast vinyl fine, on and off. Repainted or failing paint is a different conversation, and we have it before any film gets ordered.

Is wheel coating worth it on a daily driver?

Wheel & Glass Protection: If you wash your own car, yes. Coated wheel faces release brake dust with far less scrubbing. If the car gets tunnel washes, we will say so: spend the money elsewhere.

Does glass treatment replace wipers?

Wheel & Glass Protection: No. At highway speed, water beads and rolls sooner, which most drivers appreciate in a Michigan downpour. You still need wipers.

Can this be added to any package?

Wheel & Glass Protection: Yes. It is priced as an add-on because it schedules best inside a coating or film appointment while the car is already in the bay.
