Station 01
The front of your car takes what I-75 throws at it. Film takes it instead of your paint.

Most paint damage on a Metro Detroit daily driver arrives from the front: expansion-joint gravel on I-75, winter sand on I-696, and the truck ahead of you on Woodward. The film's job is mechanical. A 6 mil urethane core spreads the energy of a stone strike sideways before it reaches the clear coat, and the 0.5 mil top coat takes the swirls and light scratches that would otherwise live in your paint.
We install XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS. The layer stack, the gloss, the gravel-test numbers below are all XPEL’s own. Pull apart the cross-section and see where the money goes.
Module / film cross-section
Hover or focus a layer to see what it does. Drawn proportional to the published stack.
Section drawn proportional to the layer thicknesses on XPEL's technical data sheet (R20230428): 7.6 mil nominal installed, marketed as 8 mil.
Module / self-healing
XPEL states the film self-heals minor scratches and swirls through its elastomeric polymer technology, and that warm water or a heat gun activates the self-healing. Deeper scratches that penetrate the film may not fully heal, per XPEL.
Scope
Urethane film over the panels that meet Michigan roads first: bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors.

Questions
Bumper, hood, front fenders, and mirror caps. The Track Pack extends coverage to rockers, A-pillars, lower doors, and other high-impact edges. Exact coverage is confirmed against your vehicle's panel design before work starts.
The film is optically clear and the edges are mapped to panel lines. Up close you can find an edge if you look for it. At a normal viewing distance the car reads as paint.
Repainted panels need full cure time before film, and we check paint condition in the bay first. Tell us about any repaint history when you request a quote.
